THE WOUND MYTH
(working title)
I've been writing this book in my head since I first experienced suicidal depression when I was 12 years old. More than 30 years later, I'm finally putting the words on paper.
This is a story about my journey as a survivor of trauma and my search for self love and healing.
But, this is also a universal story about generational healing, resilience, and the power of gratitude.
Stay tuned.

THE ANATOMY OF SILENCE
Twenty-six stories about all the shit that gets in the way of
speaking about sexual violence
speaking about sexual violence
As part of powerful global movements such as #MeToo, more and more individuals are speaking up about sexual assault and harassment. But in order to translate that movement into healing and justice, we need to dismantle the barriers present in our social institutions, cultural norms and political processes that kept us having those conversations in the first place.
The Anatomy of Silence is a collection of voices speaking out loud - often for the first time - about what it means to stay silent, to be silenced, and to break the silence that surrounds sexual violence. About how we are all complicit in creating that silence. It offers an unflinching account of how a culture of shame perpetuates a culture of violence against our bodies―and reflects on what it would take to create a world in which that silence - once broken - stays broken. Amy is one of the authors featured in The Anatomy of Silence. Her story, "After the Freeze," reflects on her firsthand experience of sexual violence in corporate America and in the social impact sector - and how we can re-wire our survival response to fight, flight, and freeze, and create a new story for ourselves and for other survivors. |
